All prints must be made entirely by the entrant – Printing, film development, mounting & matting may be done by others.

All photos can be entered uncounted but must be mounted either on foam board or matte board if they are called back for year end competition– No Frames are allowed.

No writing or markings (titles, signatures, etc.) are allowed on the front of photo or matte.  This will disqualify a print.

Competition Divisions:

Monochrome: Monochrome prints are defined to consist of only white and black, as well as all shades of gray in between.  Toning is allowed, but must cover the entire image and be of a single color; e.g. sepia toning.  Prints with any color must be entered in the Color Print Division.

Color: All prints not categorized as monochrome are considered to be part of the Color Print Division.

Competition Classes:

Small (96 Square) Prints: Prints (including mounts) must have a minimum size of 35 square inches (5x7) and may not exceed 96 square (8 x 12 or any combination).

Large prints: Large print entries must be larger than 96 square inches and cannot exceed 16x20 inches.  This includes both the image and the matte when a matte is used.

Supplies needed to mount prints:

If you are not ready to tackle mounting photos yourself you can have your photos printed already mounted, Costco or any professional lab will have this option, otherwise Office Depot, Copies Today, Michael’s or any other print shop can do it for you (for a fee).

Scoring:

Prints are scored by three members (judges) on a scale of 1 to 9, according to the 4C’s guidelines.

Members do not judge their own prints.

Discussion of prints is not allowed during judging.

When judging is finished critique will be provided as time allows.
